The Multnomah Lions captured their 4th straight conference victory Saturday night vs Northwest University. The Lions jumped out to a 22-2 run out of the gate. The Lions were aggressive on defense scoring 8 points off of turnovers in the first half. The Lions hit 9 threes in the first half and they were scored by 6 different players. The first half was dominated by
Tyrese Taylor who scored 18 points and collected 9 rebounds in 8 minutes of play. Multnomah entered the break with a 51-38 lead.Â

Northwest fought back early in the second half from strong play from their guards. NU grabbed the lead midway through the second half and even held a lead of 4 with 4 minutes to do. A pair of buckets scored down the stretch from
Quentin Jones and
Zach Richardson helped to regain the lead and with seconds to go
Neyland Block was sent to he line for two free throws with the score tied at 76. Block drained both free throws to take the lead and the Lion defense held strong to secure the win.

The Lions move to 6-5 in conference play after the first round through the conference. The Lions started conference play 1-4 and have won 5 of their last 6. The Lions head into a big matchup with the cross-town rival Warner Pacific Knights on Tuesday night at 7:30 PM on Jim Skagen Court.
