Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Lady Lions Road Recap against College of Idaho and Eastern Oregon

The Multnomah Women's Basketball Team traveled for two match ups on the road to play against College of Idaho on December 16th at 5:30pm and bounce back to play Eastern Oregon at 3:00pm on December 17th.

The Games:
        College of Idaho: Senior, Alaygza Portis scored 17 points and Shaila Mays scored 14 points for MU. The Lions came out with high intensity both on offense and defense and was able to hold off C of I and keep the game was close, but the Yotes forced over turnovers and shots were sinking which gave them 36 points in the paint. MU kept the game tight, but Idaho was able to pull away at the final seconds to secure the win the game 52 to 67.
Eastern Oregon: Graduate Student Elise Graham was the star of the game with 33 points and Kaela Stonebarger was right behind her with 13 points for the Lions. MU was ready to bounce back after C of I and showed it with turnovers and forcing themselves in the paint. MU also had a lead in the second period, but Eastern Oregon ended up being the better team and got more shots up over the Lions ending the game with a score of 77 to 91.

The Players:
        Elise Graham led as top scorer 33 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 steals
Alaygza Portis with 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 steals
Shaila Mays with 14 points, 2 rebounds and 3 steals
Kaela Stonebarger with 13 points and 1 rebound                                        

The Numbers:
        The Lions scored 13 points off turnovers against College of Idaho and 21 points against Eastern Oregon.
They also had 22 points in the paint against College of Idaho and 18 points in the paint and 6 Fast Break points against Eastern Oregon.

NEXT UP:
The Lions continue host their first CCC games at Lytle Gymnasium to close out 2022 against Southern Oregon at 5:30pm on December 30th and Oregon Tech at 3:00pm on December 31st.
