Lady Lions Volleyball on the Road

The Lions volleyball team hit the road for Southern Oregon this past weekend, with matches against the 23rd-ranked Southern Oregon University and the Oregon Institute of Technology.

The Lions made strides in each set against Southern Oregon, but ultimately fell against the balanced attack of the Eagles. Led by outside hitter Hailey Van Well, with 11 kills, the Lions would hit .346 for the match. Danae Stokes led all players with 13 kills, with Jahnay Jardine stepping up on defense with 11 digs.

On Saturday, Multnomah traveled to the Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls to play the 9-8 Owls. In sets 1 and 2, the Lions started strong, led by the aggressive serving of Jahnay Jardine and Alyssa Aubrey. The Owls staged a comeback in each set, however, and would ultimately sweep the match.

Ashley Allred and Jocelynn Porter led the Lions with 7 kills each, with Danae Stokes and Lauren Porter adding 7 digs and 6 digs each. Nicole Reyes led the Owls with 11 kills, and setter Courtney Isom tallied 30 assists for the match. The Lady Lions will stay on the road to play The Evergreen State College on October 7th at 7:00pm and again October 8th against Northwest University at 5:00pm.
