For the third time this season, and second time in conference, the Multnomah Lions and Warner Pacific Knights faced off in a showdown between the Portland and CCC rivals, with this round taking place at Warner Pacific. Both teams entered the match looking to end losing streaks, and it would prove to be the Lions who emerged with the win, in a 3-0 sweep.
Behind Serina Haneberg's 4 aces, and the 19 combined kills between
Danae Stokes and
Jocelynn Porter, the Lions held off charges from the Knights in sets 2 and 3, as Warner Pacific's Tevlin Britton (12 kills), Kaytlin Campbell (9 kills) and Elizabeth Reid (9 kills) refused to let the Knights go down without a fight.
But with strong play at the net (6 total blocks) and the relentless defense of libero
Lauren Porter (17 digs), the Lions edged out the Knights to close sets 2 and 3, and complete their 3-0 sweep of the match, and of the crosstown rivalry for the 2022 season.
