PORTLAND, Ore. – Claiming their first win of the season on a sunny Sunday in Portland, the Multnomah University Lions defeated the Mills College Cyclones with a final score of 1-0.
Due to health protocols, the Lions were playing without numerous members of their team. With the low numbers, senior goalkeeper
Camilla Meneses was playing the field and took advantage of the opportunity. Just seven minutes into the game, Meneses scored the one and only goal of the game after breaking through the middle and beating defenders to slide the ball past the Cyclone goalkeeper.
The rest of the game saw the teams navigate their game plan and adapt to their opponent. Multnomah finished with ten shots, followed by Mills with six. All three of the Cyclones shots on goal were saved by senior goalie
Trisha Priest.
