KIRKLAND, Wash. – The Lions lost their closest game of the season on Saturday, March 6
th against Northwest University. The Eagles took the win by 1 point with a final score of 96-95.
The first half saw the teams trading possessions equally. Multnomah even carried the lead numerous times throughout the first ten minutes of play. However after a 10-point run in a minute and a half, the Eagles were up 29-20 with eight minutes left. Northwest maintained their lead despite the Lions bringing the deficit down to 2 points, and had the advantage by 8 points at the end of the half.
Halfway through the second half, the Eagles offense battled their way to a 15 point lead, 73-58. Northwest was still up by 15 with a little over six minutes left before the Lions offense went on a roll. Three 3's in a row from

Wallace Ungwiluk, and Richardson again, the difference was cut to 6 points with five minutes left to play.
When the clock hit one minute remaining, the Lions were down by 5.
Zach Richardson was on a 6-point run for the Lions when he nailed another 3 with nine seconds remaining to put Multnomah down by 1. Unable to get one more shot in, the Lions took their closest loss of the season despite a strong comeback.
With four players in double-digits, the Lions spread offense helped them in the narrowly missed victory.
Zach Richardson led the team with 35 points, followed by
Forrest Smith who scored 17 and led the team in rebounds and assists with 9 and 7, respectively.
Andrew Classen had another double digit night with 17 to his name.
Wallace Ungwiluk rounded out the double-digit crew with 14 points.
Northwest dealt the Lions their tenth straight loss in their pre-season stretch. Looking forward to playing on their home court, Multnomah is currently set to host 3 out of their next 4 non-conference games, with the first one slated for March 11
th against University of Puget Sound.
