Mountaineers Claim Victory

Connell, WA  – Facing the Mountaineers for the second day in a row, the Lions fell to Eastern Oregon once again with a final score of 108-44.

The game started with the teams trading leads early on. However the Mountaineers pulled away at the end of the first quarter with a 9-point run to put them ahead 21-12. Multnomah was unable to find their offensive rhythm in the second quarter and was outscored by Eastern by 20 points. Going into halftime the Lions were down by 29, 46-17.

Coming into the second half, both teams claimed the third quarter as their best. Multnomah notching 17 points, and Eastern tallying 33. The Mountaineers defense took over in the fourth quarter, forcing turnovers and maintaining momentum. When the clock ran out, the final score was in the favor or Eastern, 108-44.

Leading the Lions in scoring was Sequoia Wheeler who finished with 17. Maddie Hill also made her mark with 9. Alaygza Portis finished as the leading rebounder with 9, followed by Claire Faber with 7.

The Lions will return to campus and continue to put in work, hoping to see competition again soon.
