Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Eagles Overcome Martin's 49 Points to Top Lions

KIRKLAND, Ore. - After winning two of their last three conference games, the Multnomah University men's basketball team (12-13. 5-10 CCC) traveled to Northwest University (15-8, 10-4 CCC) in search for another win. However, the Eagles showed why they have the third best record in the conference and defeated the Lions 90-81.

Justin Martin continued to do Justin Martin things all night long against the Eagles, scoring a game-high 49 points, including going 9-17 from the three-point line.

Jaeden Ingram added in 13 points of his own, and Stepan Zavydovskyy swatted away 4 Eagle shot attempts.

The Eagles overcame a 49-point performance by Justin Martin with a strong post presence: Hussayn Ford scored 24 points and reeled in 16 rebounds, while Tanner Davis added 23 points for the NU.

The Eagles trailed the Lions 37-35 at the half but made an offensive adjustment in the second half and rallied for 55 points.

The game stayed close for most of the second half, but the Eagles got some separation with an 11-0 run to take a 76-64 edge with 4:33 remaining in the game.

A couple of Lion three-pointers brought MU back to within five, 78-73, with 2:22 left, but that was as close as the Lions would get.

The Lions get back to action tomorrow night with a game at The Evergreen State College at 7:30 PM.
