Lions Fall in Hard Fought Battle Against Eagles

KIRKLAND, Ore. – The Multnomah University women's basketball team (4-17, 1-13 CCC) traveled to Northwest University (7-16, 5-8 CCC) on Friday night to face off against the Eagles, but the Eagles fed off the energy of the home crowd and vaulted themselves to a 79-69 win over the Lions.

Erykah Campbell got things started for the Lions on the offensive end, scoring the first points of the game. Erykah Campbell came into tonight's game averaging an impressive 12.1 points, 11 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks in just over 27 minutes a game. She continued her historic season with another stuffed stat line of 11 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 blocks.

The Lions were led by a season-high scoring performance by Rachelle Tau, who dropped 29 points on 10-13 shooting from the field. Tau played 34 minutes and carried the offensive load for the Lions in her best game of the season.
Alaygza Portis was the third Lion in double figures with 12 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 blocks.

The Eagles were led by Sam Van Loo who scored 16 points, followed by Lexi Biggerstaff and Livi Lindsey who both added 13 points each. Maya DuChesne dished out a game-high 10 assists for NU as well.

The Lions will return to action tomorrow night against The Evergreen State College at 5:30 PM.
