SALEM, Ore.- The Multnomah University women's basketball team (3-10, 0-6 CCC) traveled to Corban University to face off against the Warriors (11-5, 7-1) on Saturday night.
The Lions struggled against the gritty defense of the Warriors in the first half, and trailed Corban 9-35 at the half, but a much improved second half was encouraging. After making four feild goals and no free throws in the first half, the Lions started to get things moving in the right direction with 12 more feild goals and 5 free throws in the second half. It was a tough night for the Lions offensively as Corban defeats MU 40-68.
The Lions were led in scoring by freshman
Dalila Rincan who scored 11 points (one short of her career high) to go along with 5 boards, a block, and a steal.Â
Corban had 8 players score 5 or more points, but leading the way was Kendra Murphy with 10 points and 6 boards, followed by Shaelie Burgess with 8 points and 10 boards.
Up next for the Lions is a game at Northwest Christian University tomorrow night at 5:30 PM as they look to bounce back.
