Ashland - In their first Conference game on the road Multnomah University's women's volleyball team traveled to Ashland to take on the Raiders of Southern Oregon at Lithia Motors Pavilion but fell 8-25, 14-25, 9-25 in three sets.Â
Taylor
Howie lead the Lions with four kills, and
Maile Kam ended the game with three kills, but it was no match for the heavy hitting from Southern Oregon who had five players with six or more kills.Â
For the Raiders Makayla Holt and Shelby Young had seven kills apiece, Elliot Cook and Taylor Ristved both added six, and the quartet did its damage with just four combined attacking errors. Multnomah finished the game with 11 assists while Southern Oregon handed out 37 assists. Multnomah also struggled with a 28% hitting percentage, compared to Southern Oregon's 68%.
Some bright spots for the Lions were the defense of
Alyssa Mehalovich, who finished the night with nine digs, and the eight assists by
Amanda Holm.
