PORTLAND – The Multnomah University volleyball team came up against a powerhouse on Saturday, facing 14
th-ranked College of Idaho who down the Lions in three sets 25-23, 25-16, 15-22 on Jim Skagen Court.
THE BASICS:

GAME SUMMARY:
- Both teams traded points to start the match while the Lions managed a 10-7 lead early. C of I tied the first set at 19-19 before scoring four straight points to pull ahead.
- The Coyotes finished with a .198 hitting percentage while MU hit .114 on the night.
- After taking an 8-6 lead in set two, MU dropped 12 of the next 13 points as C of I took a 18-9 lead.
- MU kept up the fight, tying the third set 12-12 after falling behind by four points. The Yotes closed the match as they scored three late points in a row to go up 24-19 before a kill by Ashley Pagan sealed the win.
KEY PERFORMERS:
- Miranda Halverson led the Lions with 13 total kills and adding nine digs.
- Hannah Snyder tallied six kills while Maile Kam finished with five.
- Marissa Rhodes collected 27 assists on the night while also earning a team high 14 digs. Rachel Leshikar added 13 digs of her own.
- For the Coyotes, taylor Alexander and Pagan led with 11 and 10 kills respectively, followed by 21 assists from Marija Djonovic.
FROM THE COACH:
"I thought our offense picked it up tonight and Miranda did a great job to keep us aggressive the whole match," said Head Coach
Jenna Bouey. "Our defense kept us in the fight, scrambling for loose balls. We're close but we just need to put it all together."

The Lions will travel next weekend as they head to south to take on Oregon Tech and 10
th-ranked Southern Oregon beginning Friday, Sept. 14.
