SALEM – The Multnomah University men's soccer team fought hard in their 2018 season opener, falling to Willamette University 1-0 on the road on Wednesday night.

GAME SUMMARY:
	- The Lions came out firing, finding multiple chances early in the contest, including a ball that crossed in the box, narrowly missing the foot of Kelvin Perez in front of an open goal.
- Moments later, Perez hit a shot on goal but was unable to get past the Bearcats' keeper.
- MU finished with four shots in the first half with two shots on target while Manuel Guillermo-Olivares tallied five saves.
- In the 57th minute, a second yellow card forced the Lions to play a man down while giving WU a penalty kick opportunity. Willamette hit the shot, sliding the ball just past the diving hands of Guillermo for what would be the game-winning goal.
KEY PERFORMERS:
	- Guillermo finished with six total saves on the night while Perez and Vidal Zaragoza each collected a shot on goal.
