MERCED, Calif.– The Multnomah University women's basketball team battled in their first road trip of the season, falling just short to UC Merced 67-62 on Friday evening.

GAME SUMMARY:
- The Lions stayed with UC Merced all night, ending the first quarter down 16-15 as UCM hit a shot in the final moments.
- In the second quarter, MU built a nine-point lead as Erykah Campbell hit a shot to go up 35-26 before taking a six-point lead into the break.
- MU shot 42 percent from the field, holding the Bobcats to a mark of 33 percent, but committed 28 turnovers to keep Merced in the game.
- In the third, UCM worked the lead back to their favor, heading into the final quarter leading 47-46.
- Merced pulled away from MU in the fourth, scoring 10 straight points to hold on to the lead.
KEY PERFORMERS:
- Three Lions registered double digits in points as Sequoia Wheeler shot 4-of-7 from three for 16 points. Milan Woods added 13 points while Campbell finished with 11 points.
- Paris Sanders finished with a team-high seven rebounds and Kayla Alvarez dished out four assists.
