PORTLAND – Scoring their second highest total in program history, the Multnomah University women's basketball team jumped out to a strong start in the 2018-19 season, defeating Yellowstone Christian College 88-74 in their season opener on Jim Skagen Court.

GAME SUMMARY:
- - Yellowstone had the edge over the Lions to start the game, ending the first quarter with a 29-25 lead.
- - MU opened the second quarter with a 19-3 run to pull ahead of the visitors 44-32 before taking a three-point lead into the halftime break.
- - The Lions shot 46 percent from the field, including a 50 percent mark from beyond the arc, going 13-26 on the day. Yellowstone was held to 37 percent shooting and was behind in rebounds 48-40.
- - MU's lead grew to 13 in the third quarter before setting on a 63-54 advantage heading into the final quarter of play.
- - The Lions outscored YCC 25-20 in the fourth quarter, starting the season off with a victory.
