How It Happened
The Men's Basketball team hosted #12 Eastern Oregon Friday night, who sits second in the Cascade Conference at 19-5. The Mountaineers jumped out to an early 12-2 lead in the opening three minutes of play. Both teams traded baskets throughout the middle of the half until Multnomah mounted a 16-4 to bring the game within two, 25-27.
Darius Redrick and
Max Upchurch gave tough performances combining for 21 of Multnomah's first-half points.
The second half began with both teams matching the other, until the 11:52 mark when the Lions showed promise of a comeback. Redrick splashed a deep three in to bring the Lions behind Eastern Oregon, 65-73. The Mountaineers stretched the lead to double-digits and continued widening the gap, eventually taking the win, 115-85.
Sophomore
Andy Brown turned heads with his hustle play, including a loose ball dive into the stands. Brown finished the night with 10 points, 6 rebounds.
Thomas Simien ended with 8 points, followed by
Ben Grandle &
Ezekiel Martin who both put in 7.
