C of I Moves Past Lions, Win 4-0

PORTLAND, Ore. – Offense was hard to come by for the Multnomah University men's soccer team as they fell to The College of Idaho 4-0 at Delta Park on Saturday night.

The Lions move to 2-6 overall on the year and 0-4 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference while College of Idaho improves to 2-1 in the conference, 3-3 overall.

How It Happened: Both teams moved the ball well to open the first half, finding opportunities to score as the defenses held up. C of I broke the scoreless tie in the 20th minute when Guilherme Siqueira chipped a ball just inside the box to give the Yotes the advantage.

A few minutes later, Miguel Nunez took a ball from Siqueira and headed it past the keeper to close out the first half with a 2-0 lead.

Much like the first half, the Lions held off the Yotes for all but a five minute period in the second half. In the 57th minute, Cole Fuller crossed the ball in front of the next, giving Bekir Cinac the change to knock in it for a 3-0 lead.

After MU keeper Manny Guillermo left due to an injury, C of I's Siqueira added his second goal of the night in the 62nd, dribbling past the backup goalie before finding the back of the net.

By the Numbers: The Yotes finished with 19 shots in the game with 11 on target while MU tallied four shots with one on goal.

Siqueira led C of I with four shots while four other players finished with three shots each. Austin Mckee ended the night with two shots while Liberty Lillibridge and Connor Leaf added one shot each.

Before exiting the game, Guillermo tallied seven saves on the night, giving him 23 saves in the last two games.

Coming up Next: The Lions head out on the road next week as they face The Evergreen State College and Northwest University.
