CALDWELL, Idaho – The Multnomah University women's basketball team played well on the road at College of Idaho, but it wasn't enough as they fell to the Coyotes 71-54 on Saturday night.
The Lions (4-20, 2-14 CCC) had four players finish in double figures in points, led by senior
Lexie Govert who finished the night with 14 points along with 10 rebounds. Following her was
Bethany George who earned a career high 11 points while
Miranda Schmillen added 10 points.
Lacie Kamper tallied 12 rebounds in the first half of play before finishing the night with 14 rebounds which tied an MU single game record. She also added eight points for the Lions.
After finishing the first quarter tied 16-16, both teams continued to battle back and forth with the Yotes earned a four point lead at halftime, 36-32. The Yotes finally took control in the third quarter, closing out with a 21-8 run to take a 59-40 advantage heading into the last quarter of play.
College of Idaho (8-15, 7-10 CCC) was led by Haylee Burnham and Petra Lumpert who each tallied 11 points followed by Ryleigh Swagerty who had nine points and Jaycin Tini who finished seven points and six rebounds.
The Lions will return home next weekend in their final weekend of conference home games as they welcome in Northwest Christian and Corban.
