LA GRANDE, Ore. – The Multnomah University women's basketball fought a tough battle on the road Eastern Oregon, falling to the Mountaineers 84-36 on Friday night.
This marks the second loss of the season for the Lions (4-19, 2-13 CCC) against Eastern Oregon, who improves to 17-8, 13-3 in conference play to remain at third place in the conference standings.
Sadie Jenks was the stop scorer for the Lions, hitting two 3-pointers to finish with eight points while
Miranda Schmillen and
Valerie Wakefield each had six points.
Ana Wakefield pulled in a career high seven boards to lead her team in rebounds.
For Eastern, Jordan Klebaum finished with a game high 16 points and added five rebounds while Nikki Osborne completed the double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds. Maloree Moss added nine points and eight boards and Darian Gasseling tallied 13 points.
The Mountaineers started the game quickly, outscoring the Lions 21-3 in the first quarter to put the game away early.
The Lions will return to action tomorrow night as they look to rematch College of Idaho after suffering an 73-61 loss earlier in the season.
