KIRKLAND, Wash. – The Multnomah University women's basketball team struggled to score the ball on Friday night, losing to Northwest University 92-45 on the road.
The Lions (4-23, 2-17 CCC) shot 27 percent from the field, including a 2-of-12 performance from the three-point line. Northwest improves to 14-15 overall, going 9-10 in conference play as they look to battle for sixth seed in the playoff tournament tomorrow night against Warner Pacific.
Junior guard
Miranda Schmillen led the way for the Lions offensively, managing 13 points along with four rebounds and two assists.
Karissa Cox added 10 points while
Katherine Edmonds finished with seven points and seven rebounds.
The Eagles jumped ahead early in the game before finishing the first quarter with a 29-4 advantage. Northwest finished the night shooting 58 percent from the field and tallied a 49-31 advantage in rebounds.
Jordan Asher led three NU players in double figures with 15 points along with five assists. Miranda Langenhorst and Morgan Jacobson each finished with 10 points while Hannah Carlson grabbed eight boards.
The Lions return to action tomorrow night as they close out the Cascade Conference season at The Evergreen State College.
