Early Lead Too much to Overcome for MU, Lose 73-115 to OIT

Portland, Ore. – The Multnomah University men's basketball team ran up against a deep team from Oregon Tech who jumped out on the Lions to secure an early 29 point first half lead, which then led to a final gap of 73-115.

The Short Story
Multnomah continued to struggle shooting the ball in the first half, only converting 1-12 from long range and 11-35 from the field. The 29 point first half deficite was simply too large for MU to mount any significant come-back against. However, the Lions found a bit more offensive rhythm in the second half and shot the ball much better, ending 6-12 from three in the half. OIT had a balanced attack with seven players finishing in double digits, led by Joel Yellow Owl who had 17 points.

How It Happened
• Darius Redrick gave MU their main offensive spark, scoring 30 points off of 11-24 shooting.
• Moe Keita put up a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Up Next
The Lions hit the road to continue CCC play and will travel east to take on the College of Idaho on Friday night and Eastern Oregon on Saturday night.
