Portland, Ore. – The
Multnomah University women's basketball team found themselves down early against the #4 ranked Raiders from Southern Oregon University and were unable to complete a second half come-back, ending the game with a 45-69 loss.
The Short Story
Multnomah struggled to finish scoring opportunities early in the game, starting the contest with a 6-17 first quarter with the only field goal scored off a three by
Sadie Jenks and with
Kayla Hyppolite adding three free-throws. The Lions shot only 8.3% in the first stanza while SOU was able to convert 7 of their 19 shots. In the second quarter the Lions found it difficult to break the Raiders' press, and ended the half with 16 turn-overs and a 20 point deficit. The third quarter found the Lions with a heavy surge of energy as they found a rhythm and outscored SOU 15-9 for the perio and cut the 20 point lead to 14. That would be as close as MU would get as SOU closed the game out with a 20 point run to hand the Lions their 3rd Cascade Conference (CCC) loss of the season.

• Katherine Edmonds gave another strong performance with 12 rebounds and 6 pints..
• Lacie Kamper also gave a solid contribution with 6 rebounds, 7 points and 3 blocked shots.
