Lions Come Up Short in Overtime Against Pacific Lutheran

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Multnomah University men's basketball team was dealt a heartbreaker on Wednesday night, losing in overtime to NCAA DIII Pacific Lutheran 93-91 on Jim Skagen court.
 
Down 82-80 with seven second to go in regulation, MU's Darius Redrick drove past the Lutes' defense and laid in a bucket to send the game to overtime. Redrick finished with a team high 20 points along with seven assists.
 
Pacific Lutheran continued to find a way to score in overtime, going 4-of-8 from the field with one 3-pointer during that time. MU had one last chance for a shot but came up just shot as Lutheran walked away with a win.
 
Jon Viles had one of his better offensive performances for the Lions, tallying 17 points while grabbing a team high 8 rebounds followed by Ben Grandle with 12 points and Ezekiel Martin with nine points and six reobounds.
 
Multnomah shot 46 percent from the field and totaled 11 made threes on the night, four of them coming from Grandle.
 
Rebounding was a deciding factor for the Lutes, coming away with a 49-40 rebounding advantage, including 12 offensive rebounds.
 
The Lions won't wait long for another chance at a win, as they travel to New Hope Christian on Friday night.
