VALLEJO, Calif. – The Multnomah University men's basketball team closed out their second road trip to California with a 104-85 loss to the University of California-Maritime in their final game of the Markie Cosca Memorial Tournament on Saturday night.
Thomas Simien was the top performer for the Lions, tallying 13 points off of 5-of-11 shooting along with seven rebounds. Following him was
Ben Grandle with 14 points and
Ezekiel Martin finished the game with 12 points and four rebounds.
Three other players for MU finished the night in double digits in points in
Trever Cooley (11 points), going 3-of-3 from behind the arc, while
Jon Viles and
Michael Escobedo each had 10 points.
As a team, the Lions shot 45 percent from the field, including a 52 percent mark from the 3-point line.
The Lions return home next Wednesday as they welcome in NCAA DIII opponent Pacific Lutheran University, tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
