Vallejo, Calif. – The Multnomah University men's basketball team fought a hard battle but was dealt a 79-90 loss to NAIA Division I Menlo College in the Markie Cosca Memorial Tournament in Vallejo, Calif., on Friday night.
In his first start for the Lions, freshman
Max Upchurch led the squad with 22 points, going 8-of-13 from the field, including 6-of-10 from behind the arc.
Following him was
Thomas Simien with 15 points while
Darius Redrick ended the night with 11 points.
As a team, the Lions shot 41 percent from the field and 31 percent from the three-point line, making 10 threes in the game. MU also shot 15-of-18 from the free throw line against the Oaks.
The Lions will continue the Markie Tournament tomorrow night as they face host University of California-Maritime.
