PORTLAND, Ore. – The Multnomah University men's soccer team held off an attacking Warner Pacific team as long as they could, but the Knights overcame the deficit to win in overtime over the Lions on a wet Friday night at the Portland Adventist Academy field.
The Lions (2-9, 0-7 CCC) scored early on in the opening half when
Edgar De Los Santos took a ball from
Noe Favila before beating the keeper from 12 yards out, giving MU a 1-0 lead in the 27
th minute.
MU finished with eight shots in the match, five landing on target. Favila led the team with three total shots while De Los Santos and
Liberty Lillibridge added two shots each.
Warner Pacific (2-6-6, 1-4-2 CCC) found shots consistently throughout the night, tallying 29 shots with 16 on goal.

Manny Guillermo recorded four of his 14 saves in the first half, helping his team head to the locker rooms with a one goal lead.
With five minutes to go, the Knights finally found a way to beat MU's defense when Matt Danielson deflected a ball off a header in to the back of the net, sending the game to overtime.
Warner Pacific would eventually take the lead with less than a minute to go in the second period of overtime, as Frank Orellana came off the bench to score the winning goal for the Knights.
The Lions return to action tomorrow afternoon as they travel to La Grande, Ore., for a game with Eastern Oregon.
