PORLTAND, Ore. – The Multnomah University volleyball team found themselves back on the winning side of things on Tuesday night, defeating New Hope Christian College in three sets, 25-19, 25-23 and 25-13, on Jim Skagen Court.
The Lions (6-11, 1-9 CCC) held the Deacons to a hitting percentage of -.035, as they recorded 42 kills in the match.
Freshman
Hannah Antal led the offense for the Lions, tallying 15 kills on only 28 swings, finishing with a team high .500 hitting percentage. Sophomore
Miranda Halverson added 10 kills while junior
Rachel Woodcock ended the night with 17 assists.
"We had a couple of the girls playing new positions tonight and we thought they did really well," said head coach
Jenna Bouey. "Antal had her best night at the net and
Kayla Keane did a great job in the back row."
Keane finished with a team high 17 digs followed by Halverson with 14 digs and
Kiana Miller with 11 digs.
Marissa Rhodes also had 13 assists and 10 digs.
For the Deacons, Samantha Clevenger led with nine kills while Alicia Hatzel ended with a match high 20 digs.
The Lions will head back on the road as they return to Cascade Conference action against Walla Walla University in College Place, Wash.
