Multnomah Earns Second Straight Win, Defeats Walla Walla in Four

COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – The Multnomah University volleyball team completed the season sweep of Walla Walla University on the road Saturday night, winning in four sets 25-17, 21-25, 25-15 and 25-17 at College Place High School.

The Lions (7-11, 2-9 CCC) held the Wolves to a negative hitting percentage of -.071, collecting 16 blocks on the night.

Sophomore Miranda Halverson and freshman Maile Kam led MU with nine kills each while junior Patty Batoon added eight kills of her own.

Senior Kiana Miller registered 23 digs in the match, making it her fifth straight match with double digit digs, finishing two shy of her season high of 25.

Sophomore Marissa Rhodes and junior Rachel Woodcock shared the setter role in the match, tallying 17 and 10 assists respectively.

MU defeated Walla Walla in three sets at home earlier this year and have now won two matches in a row after sweeping New Hope Christian College last Tuesday.

Next Tuesday, the Lions return home to host Warner Pacific College before making the long trip south on Friday to play Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon on Saturday.
