Lions Drop Road Game to Carroll 8-1

HELENA, Mont. – The Multnomah University men's soccer team traveled the long trip north, facing a tough Carroll College team who earned a decisive 8-1 win over the Lions on Friday afternoon.

Action started immediately in the game as Carroll (9-8, 7-5 CCC) earned their first goal of the game after a penalty kick from Jose Porras.

Just moments later Multnomah (3-13, 1-11 CCC) found a way to answer back as Fischer Rogers found the back of the net after a through ball from Liberty Lillibridge.

The game wasn't tied for long as the Saints found a way to get back on top less than 10 minutes later as Isaac Bostrom beat the MU defense to give his team the lead for the remainder of the day.

Carroll shot the ball often, totaling 38 shots in the game with 22 landing on target. After a short period of scoreless attempts, the Saints registered one more goal in the first half as Riley Prescott let a ball fly from 30 yards to give his team a 3-1 lead at the half.

MU keeper Manny Guillermo tallied 14 saves in the day as the Lions totaled six shots, led by three from Jacoby Boaz.

Carroll added five more goals in the second half including two in the opening four minutes of the period.

The Lions return to action tomorrow night as they close out the season against the University of Great Falls.
