PORTLAND, Ore. – The Multnomah University women's basketball team couldn't find a way to guard the three-point line as Eastern Oregon hit 11 threes in an 80-45 victory over the Lions on Saturday night on Jim Skagen Court.
The Lions only found one shot from behind the arc as they drop to 3-13 overall and 1-7 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play. The Mountaineers continue to try to climb back into first place in the conference standings as they improve to 11-6, 7-1 CCC.
How it Happened: Eastern Oregon continued to fire from deep throughout the night, earning a big lead early in the night. EOU used a 7-0 run in the middle of the first quarter before closing the opening period with a 24-12 lead.
The Mountaineers shot 45 percent from the field and ended the evening at 32 percent from deep while the Lions finished 1-of-11 from behind the arc.
Eastern began to really take control in the second quarter of play, turning a 12-point lead into a 25 point lead heading in to the locker rooms at halftime, leading 47-22.
EOU took their largest lead of the night with just over three minutes to go, a 35-point lead, before ending the night with the same margin of victory, a 80-45 win.
By the Numbers: For the Lions, junior forward
Lacie Kamper led the way on offense with 13 points and adding three rebounds while
Miranda Schmillen totaled eight points and
Lexie Govert finished the night with six points and six rebounds. Finishing out the scoring for MU was
Katherine Edmonds with six points and
Bethany George with five points.
Eastern had seven players score at least eight points on the night with Jordan Klebaum leading the way with a game high 17 points. Following her was Madeline Laan with 11 points and Ashley Knight with 10 points. Darian Gasseling totaled a game high seven assists to go along with nine points.

Coming up Next: The Lions will go back out on the road next weekend as they travel south to take on Corban University on Friday and Northwest Christian on Saturday.
