Lions Fall in First CCC Contest

Klamath Falls, Ore. – In their first ever Cascade Collegiate Conference match, the Multnomah University men's soccer dropped a 11-0 road game to Oregon Tech on Friday night.

The loss moves MU to 0-4 record overall, starting CCC play 0-1. With the win the Owls will improve to 3-4, 1-2 CCC.

How it Happened: Oregon Tech came out firing in the first half, launching the first shot two minutes into the competition, an attempted that was saved by Lions keeper Robert Kochis. The Owls scored their first two goals of the game with minutes of each other, first at the sixth minute mark followed by another in the eighth minute.

The Lions struggled to hold possession of the ball as the team gave up a season high of eight goals in the first half of play.

The scoring slowed down as the Lions defense picked up in the second half but MU couldn't find a way get a shot off, tallying only three shots in the match. Oregon Tech would add three more goals in the second half to end MU's debut in the CCC.

By the Numbers: Jacoby Boaz, Michael Kochis and Micah Sugiura each got a shot off for the Lions while Robert Kochis tallied six saves to bring his season total to 28 saves in two matches.

Leading the attack for the Owls was Daniel Blesssinger who had six shots with two goals while Casey Oltman completed the hat trick with three goals on three shots.

Coming Up Next: The Lions will continue CCC play as they head across the way to Ashland, Ore., for a match against first-year program Southern Oregon.
