CALDWELL, Idaho – The Multnomah University volleyball team ended a tough road trip today, losing to the College of Idaho in three sets 25-17, 25-8, 25-20, on Saturday in Caldwell, Idaho.
C of I stays in third place in the Cascade Conference standings, improving to 16-9 overall and 14-3 in the conference while the Lions fall to 2-17 on the year.
How it Happened: MU came out strong in the opening set of the night, securing a 4-2 lead after a block by sophomore
Patty Batoon and freshman
Miranda Halverson. Three straight points would give Yotes the lead for the remainder of the set. MU pushed for a late rally, scoring three straight but couldn't dig themselves out, falling 25-17.
C of I took control early in the second set, scoring on a 9-1 run to take a 12-2 advantage. The deficit would be too much for the Lions as they dropped set to 25-8.
Despite losing the second set handily, the Lions bounced back in what would be the final set of the night. Down 14-8, the Lions used a 7-1 run, capped off by three aces from junior
Kiana Miller to tie the set 15-15. The Yotes found enough offense late to take a 24-20 lead before a final kill by Kylie Porter gave C of I the victory.

Devyn Sigurdson and Miller each had 10 digs. Batoon led offensively for the Lions, recording 13 kills.
