PORTLAND, Ore. – The Multnomah University volleyball team came up against a tough opponent on the road tonight in 11
th-ranked Eastern Oregon, and fell in three sets 25-8, 25-6, 25-11 as the Mountaineers completed the season sweep of the Lions.
Eastern Oregon (20-2, 15-1 CCC) stay in first place in the Cascade Collegiate Conference standings while the Lions drop to 2-16 overall and 0-15 in the conference.
The nationally ranked Mountaineers over powered the Lions, using big runs and stringing together multiple points in all three sets to secure the win. Eastern Oregon used a .643 attacking percent in the opening set of the game, wining 25-8.
As the sets continued, Multnomah had a hard time matching up against the size of EOU's hitters and allowed the Mountaineers to jump on top quickly.
Sophomore outside hitter
Patty Batoon finished with a team high six kills followed closely by
Miranda Halverson who had five kills.
Kiana Miller led the back row with eight digs while
Marissa Rhodes finished with 12 assists and five digs.
The Lions will return to action on the road tomorrow night as they play College of Idaho to finish off conference play this weekend.
