PORTLAND, Ore. – The Multnomah University men's soccer couldn't stop the attack of Northwest Christian, as they fell to the Beacons 4-0 on the road on Friday night.
Northwest Christian earns their first on field victory of the season to improve to 2-10-1 on the season, their only other victory came by means of forfeit. The Lions fall to 0-12 overall on the year.
How it Happened: MU came under attack early in the match as NCU tallied seven shots in the first 13 minutes of play, four of which Lions' keeper
Manny Guillermo saved. The Beacons finally found the back of the net a few moment later when Steve Jusko knocked the ball in five-yards out from a cross.
Guillermo recorded eight of his 11 saves for the Lions in the opening half of play.
NCU's Chris Hendler added to the Beacons' lead in the 30
th minute after a turnover at midfield led to a chip shot that landed just out of reach of the keeper. Northwest Christian finished the first half of play with 21 shots.
The Lions struggled to get going offensively, recording two shots in the match compared to NCU's 38 shots. The Beacons scored their final two goals of the match in the 60
th and 65
th minutes, the first coming off a cross and the final one off a corner.
