PORTLAND, Ore. – The Multnomah University volleyball had a short week between competitions as they traveled to neighboring Warner Pacific on Tuesday night, a match that ended in three sets, 14-25, 15-25, 19-25, in favor of the Knights.
The loss drops the Lions to 2-12 overall and 0-12 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference while Warner Pacific improves to 5-7 CCC.
How it Happened: The Lions got off to a slow start against the Knights in set one, falling behind 4-10. Warner Pacific scored six consecutive points to take a big lead 16-5. Despite a strong performance on Saturday against Walla Walla University, MU couldn't come back from the deficit, losing the first set 25-14.
MU got off to a stronger start in the second set, earning the first two points before leading 4-3. The Knights forced two five-points runs to keep control of the match, leading 24-14. Warner Pacific held a .387 attack percentage through the first two sets of play.
The Lions kept the fight alive, having their most competitive set in the what would be the final set of the match. MU scored the first three points of the set before leading 6-3. Another five-point run gave the Knights their first lead of the set 8-6. Down 15-11, the Lions kept battling as they tied the match 15-15. The momentum wasn't enough as the Knights took back the lead for good, finishing the set at 25-19.

Patty Batoon had one of her best nights for MU, recording a match high 17 kills with four digs while freshman
Marissa Rhodes followed up her best night last Saturday with 24 assists against Warner Pacific. Freshman
Devyn Sigurdson tallied 13 digs for the Lions.
Warner Pacific's Kealia Rosa earned a match high 29 assists while Jenassa White had nine kills. Nicole Lisoski and Alyssa Neal each had seven kills for the Knights.
