PORTLAND, Ore. – The Multnomah University volleyball team couldn't find a rhythm offensively as they fell to Oregon Tech in three sets 25-15, 25-16, 25-16 on Friday night in Jim Skagen Court.
The loss moves the Lions to 2-13 overall on the season, while Oregon Tech (12-7, 7-6) reach over.500 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play.
How it Happened: Things started out quickly for the visiting Owls, scoring the first four points of the opening set. OIT continued to out hit the Lions, record four consecutive points on three separate occasions in the set giving them a commanding 21-8 lead. The Lions strung together a 7-2 run but a final error on MU would give the first set to Oregon Tech 25-15.
The story continued to the Lions in the final two sets of the match as the Owls used a .222 attacking percentage and recorded 14 blocks to string together point after point. The Lions showed some signs of life in the final set taking a 5-1 lead to start it off, but unforced errors allowed Oregon Tech to get back in control of things.

Marissa Rhodes tallied a match high 19 assists while
Patty Batoon totaled 11 kills.
Kiana Miller tied for a match high in digs with 12 while
Miranda Halverson finished with six kills and nine digs.
For the Owls, three different players recorded four or more kills in Bailey Nelson (six), Kelsey Sampson (four) and Kristin Depaoli (four). Brooke Molloy led the back row for Oregon Tech, recording 12 dis while Tori Porter added 10 digs and a team high 12 assists. Waverly Green ended the night with eight assists as well.
