Lions Struggle Away Against LC State

LEWISTON, Idaho - Multnomah was completely outpaced on the road tonight, as they suffered a 92-47 loss at the hands of Lewis-Clark State College, dropping to 6-16 on the year and 4-12 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play.

"Tonight was really difficult for us, but it only hurts us more if we dwell on losses like this," shared head coach Reid Takatsuka. "LC State is a top program, and they showed us exactly what it's like to compete against a nationally-ranked opponent."

The Lions struggled to get anything going tonight, with the Warriors outscoring the visitors 52-17 in the first half alone. LC State managed to force Multnomah into numerous uncomfortable situations when in possession, with the hosts scoring 23 points off of turnovers compared to Multnomah's eight. The Warriors were offensively efficient for the entirety of the contest, shooting 54.4% from the field and an impressive 56.5% from thee-point range. The Lions on the other hand, were completely outmatched offensively, shooting just 29.3% from the field and 21.4% from behind the arc.

Freshman guard and CCC leading scorer Jersey Huerta again led the way for Multnomah tonight with 18 points, three rebounds and three assists to her name. Senior forward Gracie Browning was the only other scorer who finished in double-digits for the Lions, tallying 12 points along with six rebounds and a pair of assists.

The Lions will hope to bounce back in the first of their last four home games of the season next weekend as they host The Evergreen State College at 5:30 pm.
