A Message from Dr. Taylor
I am writing today to share some significant changes that will impact the Multnomah campus and community. As we've navigated this difficult transition season of this new partnership, you've all been an amazing support.
I am personally writing to share some of the clarity we've been given as a campus about our future.
Beginning in
Fall 2025, Jessup University's Portland Campus will no longer offer traditional on-ground undergraduate classes, NAIA athletics, or the CACREP-accredited Master of Arts in Counseling program. These programs will not continue next fall, which is a deeply felt loss for our community. The impact and missional fulfillment of these programs has been vast.
This transition reflects the financial challenges facing higher education and Jessup's strategic vision for sustainability and impact, not a lack of value for these programs or the students they serve.
While we grieve the conclusion of this chapter of undergraduate education, we are steadfast in our commitment to preserving Multnomah's legacy and mission. The
Multnomah Graduate School, which includes the
Multnomah Biblical Seminary, will remain at the heart of the Portland Campus.
Our seminary and graduate programs will continue our legacy to equip leaders grounded in Scripture, serving with wisdom, compassion, and a redemptive presence. Additionally, the campus will continue to expand its local community outreach through significant partnerships with ministry and community leaders.
Athletics will continue this spring, as planned. we will finish well and with our heads held high. Our athletic department and students will need your support and encouragement at this time. I love that they have this community to rally behind them.
These people are precious to me and I'm so proud of our Multnomah Lions and all we've come through together. Public announcements will be made this week after the internal communications launch.
Thanks for your support and care.
"On behalf of our entire league we are saddened to hear the news of Multnomah having to make the very difficult decision to cease intercollegiate athletics after the spring term," stated Commissioner Robert Cashell. "They have been great members the last 10 years and the CCC will miss the great effort put forth by the Lions in competition, the classroom, and in the community."
