FOREST GROVE, Ore. - Multnomah fell to 0-2 on the year with a 63-55 road loss against NCAA Division III school, Pacific University. Freshman
Ellie Robertson led the way for the Lions tonight, scoring a team-high 17 points while also recording seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
"I think we held our own really well for phases of the game tonight, and we came up just a little short late in the game," shared head coach Reid Takatsuka. "Some of our young girls had really impressive outings tonight, and this was another great test of where we're at as a team at this point in the season."
Robertson, alongside fellow freshmen guards
Jersey Huerta and
Teyah Clark, helped Multnomah shoot 38.7% from the field. Huerta tallied 11 points, three rebounds, two steals, and provided a team-high five assists. Clark on the other hand recorded 12 points, as well as an additional seven rebounds and two assists.
Pacific was led by Shaade Williams, who tallied 17 points, six rebounds and three assists for the Boxers. Brookelynn Burke was also a constant threat for the hosts tonight, as she recorded 13 points and three assists of her own.
The Lions will be back in action tomorrow afternoon as they take on Division II side Western Oregon University for an exhibition game in Monmouth, Oregon.
