PORTLAND, Ore. - Following a back-and-forth nail biter of a game, Multnomah suffered their first official loss of the season at the hands of Montana Western, losing 94-96 in OT. Both teams moved to 4-1 on the season following tonight's result.
"Although this is a tough loss, I'm so proud of this group! Facing this type of adversity towards the beginning of our season is only going to make us a better team as the season goes on," said head coach Tayo Gem. "There's a lot to learn from this game, and all we have to do is get back in the gym and continue to get better at being us."
Keilan Torkornoo led the Lions tonight, recording a double-double with a game-high 29 points and 11 rebounds. The sophomore forward was immense for Multnomah, coming up big while keeping the hosts in the game. Despite his best efforts, Montana Western was able to pull ahead late in OT to secure the victory.
Sophomore guard Marje Winfield and junior guard/forward
Braedon Edison each had successful nights for Multnomah despite the loss, with Windfield recording 19 points, three rebounds and seven assists. Edison ended the night with 14 points, four rebounds and three assists.Â
The Lions shot 51.5% from the field, and 50.0% from behind the arc. Junior guard

"I think the biggest thing with the non-conference schedule is to win the scoreboard, but to also take steps towards reaching our full potential as a team," shared associate head coach
Quinn Curry. "We lost a good one tonight, but we're proud of how our guys fought to the end and fought through adversity."
Next up is Multnomah is a trip up north as they travel to Alaska next week to take on the University of Alaska Fairbanks in a pair of exhibition games.
