Portland, Ore. - The Multnomah University Lions (1-2) faced the University of Puget Sound Loggers (1-0) in their home opener. Puget Sound would clinch a 3-2 win over MU. The Lions struggled to put the ball in the net in the 2
nd half of the match.
The Lions fell to a 1-0 start right away as Loggers Rhyse Foote scored in the first two minutes of the game. Â The goal set the tone for the game. The Lions didn't let that quick goal hold them back. They continued to fight and evened the score with a goal from
Paul Einero at 17:59. The Lions went on to score again in the 24
th minute by
Camilo Vergara off a penalty kick.

Puget Sound was determined to not go into halftime down 2-1. They were able to find the connections they needed, and Pema Globus scored at 34:43 to event the score to 2-2.
In a chippy contest, The University of Puget Sound found themselves reduced to 10 men when they received a red card at the 39:51 mark. The game ended with a total of 26 fouls and 8 yellow cards.
Coming out in the 2
nd half, the Lions kept control of the ball and had a total of 10 shots in the half. However, Puget Sound was able to counter on a play and scored at 76:38 for the winning goal.
Multnomah University will travel to California to Cal-Maritime on September 9
th at 11:30 AM to round out their pre-season. The Lions then will host Oregon Tech on September 15
th to start off conference play.
