Lions Shooting Struggles lead to a Loss to #1 College of Idaho

The Multnomah Lions stayed home to host another anticipated matchup against The College of Idaho on February 4th, 2023, at 5:00pm. The Lions were coming off a loss to Eastern Oregon and wanted to upset the winning streak of College of Idaho at Lytle Gymnasium. Multnomah and College of Idaho were scrappy in the beginning and the Lions were staying at the 3-point line sinking numerous contested shots. College of Idaho started to get a rhythm and drove into the paint throwing the Lions off guard by continue to drive into the lane. Multnomah tried to get to the basket but was denied and suffered by trying to sink 2- and 3-point shots. The Yotes were moving the ball around well and kept pressure on the Lions forcing them to turnover or get steals. The Lions tried to get a stop after halftime, but the Yotes pulled away and the Lions lost their momentum giving the Yotes a 54-point lead to end the game 118 to 64. The Yotes scored 54 points in paint and 12 off turnovers and 61 bench point. The Lions had 14 points in the paint, 6 off turnovers and 29 off the bench. Yotes' top scorers for the game were Jake O' Neil and Johnny Radford tied with 21 points, Neil grabbed 10 rebounds, a block and a steal, and Radford had a rebound. Drew Wyman had 15 points, 5 rebounds and a steal and Charles Elzie have 13 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals. The Lions top scorers were Zach Richardson with 19 points, 4 rebounds and 4 steals, Taylor Peppinger got 18 points and Quentin Jones with 10 points, 2 rebounds, and a block. The Lions stay at home to play against Northwest University on February 10th, 2023, at 5:30pm.
