Multnomah University's Women's Basketball team was back for the third time this week to face the Beacons of Bushnell University. Coming off two straight wins against rivals Warner Pacific and Corban, MU was ready for another win. On this day, the ball did not bounce their way as they fell to Bushnell 73-54.
The Game:
Multnomah, in their usual fashion, kept the game close in the first quarter, staying within 1 point of the Beacons. Bushnell, however, pulled away in the second quarter with the help of Haley Hanson's three 3's, giving them a 13-point lead going into half. MU managed to shrink that lead to 5 with a couple minutes to go into the third. The Beacons responded well, finishing the quarter on an 8-0 run. The fourth quarter looked eerily similar to the previous as, once again, the Lions got the lead down to just 5. This time it was a 9-0 run for the Beacons to close out the game and take the win.
The Players:
Elise Graham 12 points, 7 rebounds
Dalila Rincan 10 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals
Shaila Mays 10 points, 5 rebounds
The Numbers:
Bushnell had 22 points off turnovers compared to MU's 17.
Both teams had the same number of points in the paint (28) and rebounds (41)
