The Multnomah Women's Basketball Team host at home with a match up against rivals Warner Pacific on January 17
th, 2023, at 5:30pm.
The Game:
The Multnomah Lions return from the road to host at home ready to play against Warner Pacific Knights on January 17
th, 2023, at 5:30pm in Lytle Gymnasium. The Lions were coming off a loss to Northwest University and were looking to break the streak and have a huge win at home. The game started out hot and both the Lions and Knights were using energy from the crowd fighting back and forth for the lead. The Lions opened by sinking some shots early that helped them build momentum in the first quarter and take control of the lead by 10 points. The Knights pressed the Lions and scored well in the paint with 30 points and 11 points off turnovers from the Lions, but after halftime the Lions picked up on their offensive plays, moved the ball well and were playing hard at the rim being the first to rebound the ball to keep the lead and beat their street rivals Warner Pacific. Multnomah pulled away having the largest lead of the game by 20 in the 4
th quarter and ended the game 66 to 52. The top scorers of the game for MU were
Shaila Mays with 15 points, 8 big rebounds and 5 steals,
Elise Graham had 14 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals, and lastly
Kaela Stonebarger with 13 points, 2 steals and 1 rebound. For the Knights, the top scorers were Mckeeley Tonkin with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 steals and Emily Brown with 8 points and 6 rebounds. Multnomah stays home to host a weekend header and play against Corban University on January 20
th at 5:30pm.
