The Lady Lions opened conference play this past weekend with home matches against Northwest University on Friday, and the Geoducks of Evergreen State College on Saturday. Friday's match was hard fought, with the Lions taking the first set against the Knights for a 1-0 lead. The Knights would win the next two, and while set 4 was hard fought, Northwest's tough serving was enough for them to close out the match with a 3-1 victory. Saturday's match against the Geoducks saw Multnomah take leads in each set behind a balanced offensive attack, and a tough defense anchored by libero Lauren Porter. Ultimately, the Lions fell in 3 sets, but not without highlight plays and a strong team effort throughout the entire match.
