The Multnomah Women's Basketball Team traveled to Hawaii to take on NCAA DII opponent Chaminade University in the first of their three game trip to the Islands.
The Game:
    Veteran players,
Alaygza Portis and Shaila Mays led the Lions as Portis posted a double-double, and Mays set the offensive pace leading the Lions' four double figure scorers.  MU managed to pull away after a huge second quarter in order to hold off the Swords for a 88-73 vicotry.
The Players:
        Mays led all scorers with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
        Portis finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds and 4 steals.
        Sophomore, Bailey Dickerson put in 17 points on 6 of 9 from the field.
        Senior,
Dalila Rincan added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.Â
The Numbers:
        The Lions managed to capitalize 32 points off the Swords' 25 turnovers.Â
        MU's 29 point second quarter lead the team to a total 46.9% shooting percentage.
        MU pulled down a total of 43 rebounds to Chaminade's 39.

        "This was a gritty win for us with the long travel and unfamiliar setting. It was good to see our veteran heavy team show their maturity and find a way to control the tempo on both sides of the floor. Chamindae plays in such a tough league, so they always bring great energy and fight. "
