The Multnomah Lions beat the Willamette Bearcats 97-80 in a home non-conference game Tuesday night.  MU jumped to an early 10-0 lead and never looked back.  Neyland Block led the way with 13 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 2 blocks in 33 minutes. Tyrese Taylor scored 15 points on 6 of 7 field goals and Zach Richardson poured in 21 points to lead the Lions to this win. 

Willamette was led by Jack Boydell knocking down 34 points, including 5 three pointers. 

"We played team basketball tonight with a lot of different lineups and guys passing the ball around. We had 23 assists on the night as a team.  We did not shoot the ball well from downtown, but we did attack the rim in transition and it paid off." 

The Lions will open conference play next Tuesday night at Warner Pacific with a 7:30 tip.  MU is now 2-1 on the season.
