The Multnomah Lions opened their 22-23 campaign with a 116-86 win over Pacific Union College from the Cal Pac Conference in California.
With the score tied at 24, Multnomah's shooters got hot from the outside and led a charge to take a 60-44 halftime lead. The Lions controlled the second half and closed things out for the win.
Zach Richardson hit 7 three pointers and Taylor Peppinger and Wallace Ungwiluk each added 4. Point guards Charles Jones and Neyland Block were outstanding at moving the ball and spreading the floor. Neyland Block had a put back dunk in traffic that had the crowd riled up.
Tyrese Taylor scored 19 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. Zen Goodridge also added 8 points in the post.
The Lions travel to Washington D.C. Sunday morning for a road trip game against Howard University on Tuesday night at 4:00 PST. The Lions are 1-0 on the season.
