Williford Field Dedication and Women's Soccer Home for the Weekend

Multnomah University Lions' Women's Soccer is back at home at Williford Field and played against Corban University Warriors on Friday at 11:30am and again against Bushnell University Beacons on Saturday at 11:00am.

Before the Friday morning game was off and rolling, the entire school came out and celebrated the Dedication of our new Williford Soccer Field as President Rev. Dr Eric Anthony Joseph prayed before the game, thanked the donors for the field and honored our 5th President whom the field was named after Rev. Dr. G. Craig Williford and his wife Carolyn Williford for supporting our Athletics Teams.

Kickoff started at 11:30am for the game against Corban and within the first 4 mins of the 1st period #24 Jamine Biava scored for Corban with the help of her teammates playing heavy offensively and keeping the ball from reaching the opposite side of the field to take away any attempts for the Lady Lions to take shots at the goal.

Once the ball was in possession of the Lions #22 Sydney Holmes had the most shots on the goals and #1 Camila Meneses Thomas had a total of 13 saves.
Ending the second period #6 Aubrey Smith made 1 goal and #8 Moe Sato also scored helping Corban go from 1 to 3 ending the game with Corban, 3-0.

Multnomah Women's Soccer brushed off the loss and hosted again against Bushnell University Beacons. It was a slower start to the game, but once the game got going the Beacons were quick to get down the field and #13 Emily Puita with an assist from #22 Dejah Wallot made the first goal within the first 12 minutes of the game.

The Lion's were playing heavy offense majority of the game and trying to block #13 Emily Puita's shot attempts at the goal. #00 Tai Brennan even had an incredible penalty save from #22 Dejah Wallot.

In the second period, the Lions kept battling and with an assist from #22 Sydney Holmes with a corner kick, #14 Valeria Castro put the Lions on the board with a goal evening out the game to 1-1. With a few minutes left in the game the Lady Lions pressed the Beacons and #6 Mercedes Kirton with an assist from #14 Valeria Castro again scored a goal giving Multnomah the lead and ending the game with a victory for Lions at home 2-1. The Lady Lions play next at Warner Pacific at 11:00am.
