OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Lions opened their conference campaign with a loss on the road from the Geoducks of Evergreen State College. Multnomah took the first set, but the Geoducks consistency ultimately won them the next three sets.
Multnomah was playing at a disadvantage without a handful of key players due to health protocols, but still fought it out to the end. The Lions were down in the first set by as much as 6 points, but the team rallied their way back to the victory in extra points, and sealed the deal with an ace from
Lauren Porter to make the score 28-26. It was an offensive battle in set one between the two teams – with the Lions kill count at 17, and the Geoducks with 15.
The second set saw the teams trading runs, but Evergreen had the 7 point lead at 19-12 that was too steep to overcome.
